Very good gig (OK, with the occasional dodgy vocal), very good sound quality (sounds like a soundboard to me?), and some interesting arrangements - no doubt due, in part, to Deke Leonard's enforced absence.

Martin Ace says on the CD that Deke was missing due to a motorcycle accident - in fact he was still recovering from the stroke that he had suffered earlier that year.

A quote from their roadie Roger Hoodless from "The Welsh Connection" (Man fanzine) Dec 1996/Jan 1997 issue:

"There was a strange night in Zotsenbach. A hippy club that looked like the cover of 'Rhinos'...well, sort of! The stage had a triple arched wall to the front which opened onto an open area with tiered seats up to where the mixing desk was situated. In the middle of the floor was a huge coffee table, around which were sofas and easy chairs, so it was more like a party in a large living room.

It may have been me thinking that Deke would have loved this place but at a point during the intro to 'C'mon' I was checking the sound desk and I could swear Deke's guitar was playing. It was so clear in my head that I had to open my eyes and check the stage - that's as far as I got, for a clip-on mic on the drums decided to do the first of what was to be many suicidal leaps off the kit and rather spoilt the moment."

Excellent show, as are all of this tour. CS made a couple of mistakes on his guitar during the first 3 songs, but after that he was back in full glory as always.
We were in a perfect spot to see and record Santana. Sound was near perfect in the famous Verona Arena with a single echo at around 0.4 seconds, to be heard perfectly during the drums-solo.

Santana was in a great mood and played a couple of short inserts all over the set. Song # 20 i.e. features the melody from Spartacus, as my wife told me, followed by Greensleeves and then merges into a 4 minute blues.
Short mention of Sunshine of your love and another famous song, that I'm still working on to figure out.

We enjoyed the show very much and I hope you will too. Turn it up loud and dance !

No battery failure happened and the entire show is here for you in all its glory. I recorded many shows this summer and this one is soundwise still the best. Rating is an A-, the minus only for the clapping.

Here & Now played at University Of East Anglia on April 10th 1978.
Here & now also played in Leicester on June 15th with Daevid Allen and George Bishop.

This is an obscure show, it could even be a composite of various sources (disc 2 track 7 can also be found on the "Gong Xmas Party", Dec. 19th 1978).
Many tracks fade in and out, there are lots of cut and most of this tape is made of jams.
Quite hissy but enjoyable. Some is definitely soundboard, I'm not sure if there is some stage or audience recording (maybe deteriorated sbd).
Gilli Smyth can be heard at the end of track 7 disc 2.

I received this as show as 2 CDR's in a trade. Just three tracks (One 62 min.).
I retracked it, edited a repeated fragment, and crossfaded a cut (Disc 2 track 7, no music missing, so it is unnoticeable).

This concert (the original soundboard tape omitted the last songs from the show) was originally released on the 4-CD set ÒA Profile. The King On Stage,Ó in great quality, but this release features slightly improved sound. The last four songs were culled from a soundboard tape of the June 28 Milwaukee show (the original CD release used songs from Dayton, on the October tour, to replace the missing tracks).
Elvis gave a great tour in June-July of 1974, being very energetic on stage and vocally very strong. He also had a couple of new songs in the repertoire compared with the March tour, including a nice reworking of 1967Õs ÒBig Boss ManÓ (debuted on the short May tour on the West Coast and included in his May stand in Lake Tahoe). Elvis was in particularly good humor for this show, playing with the audience unmercifully at the start of the show, including an impromptu foray into two songs that seemed perennial favorites of his (ÒWhen My Blue Moon Turns To Gold AgainÓ and ÒBlue ChristmasÓ) before getting on with ÒI Got A Woman.Ó He even endorses Jimmy Dean sausages, at some point, for reasons known only to him. His aside ÒdonÕt you move, you big sumbitchÓ (after ÒAll Shook UpÓ) was directed toward a large stuffed animal, a gorilla, some girls had placed on stage.
A thoroughly enjoyable concert to listen to, this is, from start to finish. Elvis was in great form and really, really having fun with a great Kansas City audience. HeÕd be back in Vegas less than a month later, playing a very nice setlist and turning out some great performances (albeit, toward the stintÕs end, with disturbing undertones and a few such overtones), but the atmosphere of a stadium crowd with a larger, younger, and more fan-laden audience sees Elvis in his real element. As always, being there in the stadium on the night must have been orders of magnitude more exciting and amazing.

Elvis wore his new embroidered jumpsuits -- much lighter than the bejeweled kind with the capes -- on this tour. For the afternoon show he wore the American Eagle suit, an embroidered version of his classic "Aloha" eagle suit, and for this show he wore the Inca Gold Leaf suit, an embroidery take on the earlier and vastly heavier "Today" or "Pharoah" suit that he wore in 1973.

VG audience recording. There are some cuts between songs, so it's hard to tell whether or not this is the complete show. "Iron Man" and "Cornucopia" are missing, so these were either dropped from the set list or not recorded. Also, there is no "Sometimes I'm Happy" jam during "Wicked World". The speed correct running time of this tape is approximately 54 minutes. Shorter versions may simply have a faster playback speed, as I've found on a few versions.

Taper's Notes: "This is one of the first shows I recorded. It was the third or the fourth after the Rolling Stones in Milano, of which I have the tape somewhere... I've traded this tape several times in those years, so it may have reached you in form of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. generation recording or bootleg or CDR. It is also likely that you got the tapes recorded from some other fellows that night (the room was
plenty of tapers...). So I just offer my (copy of the) master version that, obviously, you cannot have."

Max Robinson (from Italy): "Regarding the Italian shows of 1973 in Brescia and Vicenza, one of the shows after the 1st song(Snowblind) and just after Ozzy's announcement for "Sweet Leaf", you can hear 2 guys shouting for "Paranoid". This one should be Brescia. The other of course is Vicenza. You talk about the warmth of the Italian fans during Tony Iommi's guitar solo. It all comes because of course Italians do admire guitarists but most of all because Tony has always been considered "Italian" by Italian fans. He probably does not even realize how deep their devotion is for him. Judging by his name and his looks his father should be from the south of Italy, I assume from Naples or around that area."

Reviewed by Guillaume Roos: "Good audience recording with tape hiss, a few drop outs plus several cuts and fade outs between songs. I guess we're once again confronted with some primitive editing."

"This was Black Sabbath's second show in Italy. The PA system seems to be in better shape than for the previous show. In the beginning, the guitar is pretty much drowning out everything and Ozzy's voice sounds very far away. The vocals are fixed by the end of "Snowblind", but the guitar is still very prominent in the mix. Geezer's bass can barely be heard."
"Concerning the performance itself, it is certainly as good as the Bologna gig. The guys might not be as imaginative during the improvisational sections ("Sometimes I'm Happy" is not performed), but they're delivering a way much more energetic show in Brescia. They definitely sound like they're having fun."

Here are 2 studio recording versions of 'We Can Fly From Here' which, while performed live during the 1980 tour, was never released on a Yes studio album. The story goes that the demo version of the song was done by Trevor Horne and Geoff Downes and brought to the remaining members of Yes at the time (Chris, Alan, Steve). The boys like what they heard and asked the Buggles to join them as Yes. There is some debate that the demo version is Chris and Alan on bass and drums instead of Trevor and Geoff doing the instruments, but I dunno (I'll leave that to people in the know to argue about).
BTW, after the song fades at the end there is more music. The story goes that the reason it is not completed is because Trevor didn't like what he heard and told the engineer to cut off the taping. Who knows?

The second version included here is a later mix of the band doing a full version, recorded (or mixed) on April 18, 1980 at the Townhouse Recording Studio.

Ok all you Yes fans. Here it is: the Relayer lineup of Yes rehearsing before the 1976 tour and it includes the Remembering. I got this tape in the arly 80's and it was labeled Millersville, PA. Since then I've heard that its really Lititz, PA and even that its Roanoke, VA. Right now I'm sticking with Millersville as that was what my 20 year old tape reads. I wish that a better source would surface and/or that someone could defnitively say where the venue actually was and the exact date. Forgotten Yesterdays says Roanoke, VA, 5-27-1976 (day before their 1st show), but I question that.

Can't tell you the generation and this recording suffers from several things: some warbling, some distortion, and the echoing venue itself. I have cleaned this up sound-wise as best that I could. I removed some of the hollow sound, did some noise reduction, did some eq-ing, speed corrected, and smoothed out the spots where the taper turned on/off the recorder. I've kept the CDs in sync with the tape flip so nothing is missing. Some would argue that I could have cut out some dead space and fit this on 1 CD, but being a completist I couldn't do it. Feel free to redo it if you want. When putting in track markers I made tracks where the band wasn't playing any song, but the time was at least a minute in length.

there were 2 different versions I've heard of this concert on dime already, before I first posted this from a 2nd gen. source.
(why can't someone come up with 1 of Boston summer 73, around this same time?)
There are at least 2 more of this one (I think possibly all different sources) so hey why not add a little more confusion? That is not really my style (even though I can be damn good at it when I don't try to) but I'm doing it here (maybe) because this was the best sounding version I've heard of this show, and I thought I was getting an upgrade over my previous source, it may even be a new source, if not, this is still the 1st post from this source with no analog copying lineage in it.
Sounds like the mikes had a clear path to the stage (this makes a big difference in sound of an aud ROIO regardless of anything else) and everyone is clearly heard throughout. This taper did a nice job and my source (who doesn't want to be identified) is I'm told a master cassette > CD copy of it. Although I have as many as 3 different 1st gen. of this one show, I think it sounds the clearest of all versions I've heard
(including the 2 previously posted on dime (both by other uploaders, this is my 2nd post of this show.) I recommend starting disc 2 with track 5 (dream), which gives you aprx 38 and 60 min. discs, but there are other suitable options if you prefer..
It has edited applause removed (almost entirely) between songs but amazingly enough the dream isn't cut in the middle (that is quite unusual with Maha auds)
This version appears to have no interrupted songs, and it was a fine show. Not as good as the Boston one (that I still don't have) but still very much in that area, and that's always a nice area.

So whatever you do do not sell this recording.

source: 3 source FM matrix: tracks 1-3, source 1, which has some static in parts but never very loud or long lasting. This is a 2nd gen. tape.
The rest is from 1st gen. (different master source) and sounds as good as
I've ever heard this show sound, but it also has some static. The fidelity is quite good for a Jan. 72 FM recording, with great seperation of left and right,but WBCN was hardly the megawatt giant it has been since circa early 80's.
The third source (unknown) only provides a few seconds of this recording, filling in just a few seconds of talk after Dawn when John mentions he broke a string and we'll be right back, at which point they cut away to a commercial, and cut back in after John mentions Jan Hammer, just as he says "he's from Czeckoslovakia".
I have cut out all the commercials, and left all the music and talk in here.
The 3rd source is not as good as the other two, fortunately it's just barely long enough to notice it, and there strictly to maintain the continuity of the recording.

This show is so early I hadn't heard of Mahavishnu Orchestra yet then, and did not hear this broadcast. This may be the 1st Boston Maha. show, although I suspect they may have done a show in late 71 at Jazz Workshop or somewhere else. Just a few months later, Maha. was touring almost constantly and played at least 2 more Boston shows in 1972. One show I originally posted as 3/11/73 turns out to not be that date, so it's likely late 72, but this is definitely the earliest 72 Boston Maha. show I know of, the start of a very fiery relationship (in a good way) and still featuring the music of "Inner Mounting Flame" which is a good
description of this band's career. Even this early on, the flame was burning brightly, but you can tell it's an early Maha. show. It may also be the best version out there, since I've heard a few in varying quality and I'm sharing the best one I could put together. Folks have said they want more Maha. So if anyone out there has more original (or Apocalypse tour) Maha. please post it. The 1st rock band I ever heard with a violin in it was this one, Ponty came a few years later for me (since I didn't see him until 1976.)

In my opinion, this is one of the best audience recordings of the original Lynyrd Skynyrd band. We're talkin' about 1974!

And there aren't many live shows circulating with the Pronounced and Second Helping lineup, with Ed King and Bob Burns...

The band did an encore that night, Crossroads, surely one of the first times they played that song, that was recorded for the live album, One More From The Road.

This is a fresh transfer from my (allegedly) 2nd gen cassette of this show, WITH azimuth adjustment done.
I have seeded this before without doing the azimuth adjustment.
This is noticeably (but not tons) better.
Adjusting the azimuth on the old cassette deck REALLY does make a difference.

This is the best WarChild show I know of, i.e. combination of fidelity and performance,

A very good performance with all of the band on good form, Ian’s vocals sound pretty good, he does a great job considering the problems he has had over the years with his throat, etc. and really deserves every credit for continuing to put on great performances for us.
The opening song is missing unfortunately due to a late arrival at the venue. “Yellow Time” the second song performed cuts in, I had started recording on the way. Ian and crew were already on stage with Heather and Brian from Mostly Autumn. The first 42 seconds are very muffled, recorded from inside my jacket pocket – you can here the usher pointing out our seats and a comment from my friend. After that the sound quality gets much better.

Quality is very good except there is a girl (probably a grandmother now) hooting between songs. I got caught up in the performace and had to make a cassette flip @ 6:13 mins into Supper's Ready. Otherwise the show is complete.

comments:
A pretty hot show from Santana (is there any other kind?) in the "Motor City" the recording itself is not bad, but the one problem of greatest concern with this is the sound is muddy. This is a big place. There are a couple of interruptions, one for a tape flip about 41 minutes into the show (just as Europa goes into Savor, apparently) and a brief recorder shutoff in the Soul Sacrifice.
It's not too jarring after splicing. I would put this a bit above the "for completists only" level, but not very far above it. Even for the lofty standards of Carlos Santana I would say this is a better than average show, BMW/GQ and OCV are typically rather short length average versions, the others are a bit stretched out and jammy. Carlos seems to like the patriotic mood of the 4th of July spirit (as in his national broadcast from 7/4/81, that was a high energy concert too). I don't know what kind of recorder was used for this, probably auto levelling Sony mono, there is some evidence of the
cheesiness of the microphone, and there is a little (slight) speed fluctuation in the later part of Soul Sacrifice. Not enough to really annoy, but it is noticable.
I can only guess the new album at this time was "Welcome", but the only 2 songs I know from that are not in this show. It's not quite complete, but close to, the beginning and end are both included here. I tried to splice it sounding as complete as possible but I think a segment is missing in the tape flip (not very long, maybe just a few
seconds, possibly as much as a minute or 2.) The sound gets noticably less clear after the tape flip (this rather common problem with tapes of this era is usually either because the recorder's heads have become dirty during the concert, or the tape doesn't sit quite flush in the deck after being flipped. Those who have had to flip
cassettes in the dark or under low concert light know what I mean there). I did not record or see this show. This may be muddy from being too far from the stage, so this is a you're kinda/sorta there production. The crowd noise is moderate (espec. applause) but mostly between songs. If you're not familiar with Leon "Ndugu" Chancellor, you should be, like most who play percussion at any time with Carlos Santana, he's very good at it.
I really do think that was not this concert, rather one a few days (or more) earlier in a place called Ypsilanti Michigan at Rynearson Stadium. the taper of this concert marked it Olympic Stadium, and he is a Michigan resident, who taped this, so he ought to know.

Very nice sounding Audience show, JAB bought the LP way back when and it was one of the first bootlegs I ever got into. We transfered it to CD about 6 or 7 years agi so the details are a little thin on the ground I'm afraid. There are fade outs between the tracks, possibly to save time on the LP and 4500
Times fades out after 15 minutes. I would say this wasn't the complete gig but it's the complete vinyl.
