I got this show in a trade with dAS of ubCo, long time collaborator of Daevid's.
Stereo soundboard recording.

NYG's show was cut short causing Daevid to say:
"...We've only got 3 minutes left to play now so... I'd like to strangle the fucking promoter!".

Possibly also Cliff Cultreri, Fred Maher or Stu Martin on this set?
Any correction and detail on the lineup is welcome.

Date and venue confirmed by Calyx website.

Pavlov's Dog - 1975-xx-xx CBS Studios

Pavlov's Dog, Live at CBS Studios, 1975
LIRFM radio broadcast, 1975

Traded tape (from the 70's), played in Sony Pro Walkman, via hi-fi lead > Adobe Audition > Flac Frontend (level 5) FLAC > you.

This is a very good, but not ultimate hi-fi, tape of a stereo radiobroadcast.

Pavlov's Dog fans who don't have this item - I don't know of a "silver" of it - will be pleased to hear there are at least two tunes I don't recognise from their albums, and various new intros to songs, plus a 6-minute version of "Preludin".

The second half of the show is a long segue/medley - track 04 - which I haven't cut up. Track 5 is only separate as it's on the other side of the tape I have.

People who are just curious, may love or hate David Surkamp's extraordinary vocals (somewhat like Geddy Lee in Rush, some say..) and may or not love their grand, orchestral style.
To me, it's pomp rock that isn't actually pompous - they go straight to my brain and heart, they're awesome.
Curiosity is good - give it a go! Find out about 'em for the price of a CDR..

Tracklist..

01 Theme From Subway Sue
02 Preludin / Julia
03 Song Dance
04 Fast Gun / Natchez Trace / Of Once And Future Kings / unfamiliar song(s) / Episode
05 Unfamiliar song

Neil Young - Down The Wire (very young Neil Young)

This is rare, early Neil Young live. The Wichita Falls tracks are solo acoustic (pre-Springfield). Very good sound qualities for the time. There are also two Buffalo Springfield outtakes. As well, there are two 45 single demos with Neil’s Canadian group the Squires.

Tracks 1-7; 10 and 11 = Live in Wichita Falls, Kansas 1-12-65
Tracks 8 and 9 = Buffalo Springfield studio outtakes
Tracks 12 and 13 = The Squires 45 single demos ‘63

Enjoy!

Notes:

- d1t07 has some very heavy low end distortion present.

- Decent sound. some hiss/crackle present intermittently, heavy at timers, and the low end
suffers from a little distortion, but it's still very listenable. This is a nice piece
that showcases Miles's playing for the period very well. The "It Could Happen To you"
is one of the highlights for this show.

- Thanks to Peter Losin for the source!

- "Davis had been away from New York for several months, in the Midwest trying to cure
his heroin habit. He returned in April and joined the Beryl Booker group for two nights
broadcast on WJZ. Perhaps on the strengths of this gig, Davis was offered a one-week
engagement at Birdland, May 1-7."- Credit to Peter Losin, http://www.plosin.com/

The Nice - 1969-10-26 - Amougies, Belgium (Day 3)

The Nice
Amougies (Belgium), Actuel Festival
26 October 1969

75 minutes

source: audience recording (mono)

More from the Sunday performances at the 1969 Amougies Festival with the full set by The Nice, featuring of course Keith Emerson of later ELP fame. This is a typical set for the period (a mixture of original compositions, folk covers and classical/rock fusions), but shows the trio at their most energetic. As with previous series, there are obvious issues with the sound quality - the tape recorder used was way below modern standards and the sound is nowhere near "professional" quality. This reservation aside, however, this is simply an unbelievable document of a legendary festival, and so our hearfelt thanks to the taper, JJB, for recording this at the time, and for allowing me to seed it here.

I hope the setlist below is accurate; corrections welcome !

1. tuning up & announcement (0:49)
2. Intermezzio from Karelia Suite (9:59)
3. organ improv (5:29)
4. Country Pie / Brandenburger Concerto #6 (7:25)
5. piano improvisation (1:02)
6. Hang On To A Dream (11:41)
7. Pathetique Symphony 4th (8:40)
8. She Belongs To Me (15:07)
9. Rondo (14:06)

A Superb soundboard recording featuring the Doors at The IOW, 1970
has been circulating for some time on a variety of labels.

All of the recordings I have heard about have a cut during "The End" (just before the "Wake Up" section).

My original ROIO disk is on the "Megaphone" Label and also has the above section missing.

The recording presented here includes a complete version of "The End Medley" - with the
missing section restored (by myself) from a BBC Radio Broadcast!
This posting also includes the original artwork.

Hope you enjoy it,

This is a great sounding show and the band is in fine form. Original bass player Mel Schacher is replaced by Dennis Bellinger. Mark Farner on guitar and Don Brewer on drums.
